Aloo Gosht is a Pakistani and North-Indian style curry dish made with meat (gosht) and potatoes.
INGREDIENTS
- half kg beef / chicken
- Ghee/ Oil
- 3 Onions
- 1 tab spoon of Garlic paste
- 1 tab spoon of Ginger paste
- 2 Tomatoes
- 1 tea spoon salt
- 2 tea spoon chilli powder
- half tea spoon turmeric
- half tea spoon coriander powder
- half tea spoon Garam masala powder
- half kg potatoes
METHOD OF COOKING
In a large pot heat up the oil on medium heat until hot
Take onions and cooked for 3 to 4 minutes until it brown
Then add the ginger paste and garlic paste
Put tomatoes as the onions are cooking dice up the tomatoes and add to the pan then cook for a further 4-5 minutes until softened
Now add the lamb / beef/ chicken and cook for 8-10 minutes on medium heat
Add the spices then cook for 4-5 minutes
Add the water then cover and cook for 40-45 minutes until the meat is almost cooked through
Peel the potatoes and chop into chunks then add into the pan before covering and cook for 10-15 minutes until the potatoes are soft – the cooking time will depend on the size of the potatoes
Add the green chillies and coriander then cook for 2-3 minutes on low heat for garnishing also spread garam masala powder
Serve immediately with a side of homemade naan and enjoy!
